The St. Augustine, Florida light is a striking light. It is painted in the same "barber shop pole" scheme as the Cape Hatteras light, with a red lantern housing a revolving First Order Fresnel lens. The interior of the tower struck me as being very roomy, with wide stairs and large landings. The structure is obviously under good care and it is a joy to visit. If you're ever nearby, be sure to stop in and see the wonderful view from up top.
